The Association now has projects on two levels: meeting the direct educational needs of the HIV/AIDS orphans on an annual basis and supporting the construction of a new school.

Project 1: School Supplies for HIV/AIDS Orphans

The Muranderera Association, through its US/Canada appeal, aims to raise $50,000 to keep 375 Burundian HIV/AIDS orphans in primary and secondary school in 2007/8.  Your contribution is urgently needed.  Please send your checks made out to "Muranderera AIDS Orphans 2007/8" to Muranderera Association, 19 Taft Avenue, Albany, NY 12203 or donate securely online with a credit card.

Project 2: School Construction at Ndayi Village

The Muranderera Association is helping the Bikanka community to construct a new primary school.  This is a major community project that complements our annual appeals for school supplies for the HIV/AIDS orphans and ensures that the orphans, and other children, will have better schools. The Bikanka community have contributed land and building materials to the project, however its completion will depend on further inputs from the Burundi Government, the Bikanka community, Muranderera Association members and supporters in the US and Canada, as well as all kinds of donors, public and private, official and NGO, individual and corporate.
