School Supplies Program
Under this program Muranderera Association seeks to provide textbooks, writing materials, tuition and fees, basic health insurance and school uniforms to the 375 HIV/AIDS-orphaned and other vulnerable children currently under our care, being the level of support necessary to ensure they remain in school. The annual cost of providing this support is estimated at US$135 per child. The Burundi Government has decreed that elementary school will be free with respect to tuition and fees, but the reality is that books and other essential school materials and supplies will not be provided by the Government. These expenses continue to be the biggest worry for the assisted children and their sponsor families. Therefore, regular annual support in the amount of US$50,000 is needed to ensure the children’s continued school attendance.

Muranderera has no paid staff and low administrative costs, which means that more than 90% of your donation directly benefits the children, the intended beneficiaries under the Muranderera programs.
