Helping the HIV/AIDS-Orphaned Children of Bikanka, Burundi

Regular assistance to schoolchildren in the annual amount of about US$50,000 is required. Previous annual US donations have been used to buy school supplies, pay tuition and fees, basic health insurance cards and school uniforms for the orphaned children. The Burundi Government has decreed that elementary school will be free with respect to tuition and fees, but the reality is that books and other essential school materials and supplies will not be provided by the Government. These expenses continue to be the biggest worry for the children assisted by the Project and their sponsor families. Therefore, continued annual support is critical to the children’s continued school attendance. This much-needed annual funding of $50,000 is the Muranderera Project 1.
